Before we get started you need a google account signup, a facebook fan page, a twitter account and a twitterfeed account signup.

 

I’m assuming you allready have a facebook and a twitter account. Let’s start by opening your facebook fan page. The first thing we notice is that there is no rss-feed or something similar to that. This means we have to create a new feed to import into twitter. Pick up the url from your fan page and copy it. Paste the facebook url into your google reader by pressing the add a subscription button.

If you allready have over 25 users you can create a shorturl on facebook. Else the url will look something like this:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/youresorandomcom/118843938139116?ref=ts

Notice the ?ref=ts link at the back of your url. You don’t need this, so you better delete it. Or make sure you copy the link without it. Go to Google Reader, log in into your google account, else you won’t have access. If you don’t have a google account, signup here.

You will see all your status updates in the preview box, in the middle of your screen. Press the show details button in the right top corner and select your feed url.

Go to twitterfeed and setup a new account. When finishing the first step you can include your feed url settings.

Go to the next step and choose twitter to import your feeds. Press on the link and press on the big blue twitter verification button.

Press the allow button, make sure you are logged in into twitter. To make sure everything is activated, press the activate button at the bottom of the twitterfeed page and all work is done! After a few minutes your first facebook fan page status displays will be seen in your twitter account!

Explorer can be a real pain in the ass, when you upgrade from an older version it’s hard to get your old IE7 browser back up. To view your website in this older version of explorer (wich is still used a lot) you can add this plugin to your firefox account.

03. Seo-Stats
Seo stats creates an online webpage full of statistics every webdesigner must know. It displays your social network results, the backlinks in the search engines, your pagerank and the indexed pages in search engines.

04. Rainbow
Rainbow shows you is a live colorpicker you can use in firefox. When you click on the color you see in the frame it shows the Hex color code, very handfull if you’re looking for color hex codes.

05. Flashgot
Flashgot let’s you download all links, video’s etc.. with just one simple click. It’s very usefull if you wan’t to take something from another website.

Let’s start by picking a good background image of a landscape. I downloaded this picture from sxh.hu a free photostock website. You can also make a nice panoramic picture yourself. I picked this picture: Vosges Lake.

 

Copy the picture into your photoshop cs5 program. Make a printscreen (prt sc button on keyboard) and paste it into photoshop. Now you have the exact dimensions of your desktop and you can paste the picture into it. Transform the picture proportionally and save your document.

I want to remove the small house at the end of the image so I take the quick selection tool (w) and select the house. I did it in a couple of times to select the full house, don’t worry if you select more than the house alone. Also expand the selection a bit (select -> modify -> expand -> 2px).

Now we fill the background with the new cs5 feature content aware. (right mouse click -> fill -> content-aware / opacity 100%). As you can see the small house in the back is now gone. Repeat those steps to delete the vehicle on the left.

Favicon.cc is an online favicon creater. You can easily upload your logo and it will easely generate an .ico file wich you can download. Or just create your own design into the online paint tool.
